Costa Rica announced who will be the allowed flights starting August 01st, 2020. Flights may only exist from the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom, and Canada.
As reported by the Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Segura, the opening of international flights will be gradual and will only have a maximum of five flights per week.

As a requirement to enter the country, the required traveling persons carried out a PCR test and that it was negative, in the last 48 hours before the flight.
They must complete the digital epidemiological form of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, which will be enabled in different languages, and purchase travel insurance that covers accommodation in the event of quarantine and medical expenses for acute illness.
Upon landing on the Costa Rican soil, travelers must wear face protection and comply with the strict protocol of the air terminal, respecting physical distance, disinfection in carpets, taking temperature and following any other sanitary instructions.
“This first stage of opening to international flights contemplates less than 1% of the volume of flights that the country received before the COVID-19 pandemic (552 weeks)” highlighted the Minister of Health, Daniel Salas. The entry was suspended by a foreign tourist’s last March 18.
